All Dressed Up!

 This week we stepped it up with our themed dress-up days. Here are our awesome costumes. 

We had a movie character and animal day. 

PJ and onsie day.

And the best one for the week was dress like your Dad day.

Lockdown Themes

Wow! What a week we have had online learning while in lockdown. 

Each day this week we had a different theme. 

On Tuesday we brought our pets online to say hello. 

On Wednesday we had our favourite teddy or toy learn with us for the day. 

On Thursday we had a crazy hat day where we all wore something on our heads. 

And today we all dressed up in yellow to celebrate Daffodil day.

Matific Challenge

 Thursday and Friday this week we are involved in a math challenge. 

We are competing against schools in NZ and Australia to get the most amount of stars on the Matific app. 

Yesterday we dressed up as monsters and worked really hard to get as many stars as we could. We had lots of people on the leaderboards and are currently holding 1st place out of all year 2 classes! 

Bring on another great day today!

Student Spotlight - Sophie

This week we had Kris from the library come and read us the story Abigail and the Birth of the Sun. After that, we did some sun art and it was fun because we got to put yellow strings hanging off the bottom.

For writing this week we watched a video about a bridge, a bear, a moose, a rabbit and a racoon. They were fighting about who got to go to the other side. We made an animation on explain everything retelling the story and then wrote about what we thought the ending would be. I said that maybe the racoon and the rabbit will fight because they wanted to get to the other side like the bear and the moose.

First Day Back!

We were all very excited to be back at school on Monday in ruma weka.

We showed off our number writing skills.

Filled a big piece of paper with our spelling words.

Played our favorite game: eggs, dinosaurs and volcanos.

We even tried out the mannequin challenge which was a challenge given to us by the senior class this week in whanau time.

While we have been at home we have been doing some colouring in to celebrate Easter. Here are our pictures.

Sunshine Classics Superstars!

Today we went through all of the different activities you can do on sunshine classics using our iPads and then spent some time doing some practice on our own. We learnt lots about how to finish the activity the best we can.
